Scot + Katherine | Downtown Pensacola Engagement

I love surprise engagements. So much. It’s one of my favorite things to shoot. When Scot called and asked me to shoot theirs, I think I got almost as excited to shoot it has he was to ask Katherine to marry him!

Their first date was at the Saenger Theatre and Scot wanted to propose at the south entrance. I don’t think it could have been more perfect. My wife and I got some queso and guacamole at the taco place across the street, you know, so we could blend in as unsuspecting bystanders :)

When Scot and Katherine started walking down the street I felt like a kid in a candy store! Everything was right, the lighting, the location, everything. He got down on one knee and all the onlookers started cheering and pulling out their phones. The look on her face was perfect!

And she said YES!

After the proposal we went all over downtown and just had a blast! They were such a joy to work with, cutting up and laughing the whole time. They were smiling ear to ear all evening!

One of my favorite aspects of my job is meeting amazing couples like this who are about to embark on the most wonderful of adventures. It is a such a privilege and honor to get to do what I do and I’m grateful every time I get behind the lens.

I’m so glad to have been a small part of their story.
